You are right, United Kingdom is too long... but I guess it is long too for all the other existing weather gadgets in the internet. I will have it in mind for my next weather gadget.
The rest are personal tastes... Cheers

Nice Prog, thanks for making it available. If you were to improve it perhaps you might consider: 1. making the place name editable or sizeable(I live in the "united Kingdom" which weather.com insists on adding to the place name, so of course it clips/crops and looks untidy) perfect if you live in 90210 though.. 2. removing the "(mouse over images to show forecast)" text OR make last mouse-over'd forcast text persistant... just personally dont like the hand holding especially since most of the other elements of the interface one has to figure out anyway.. so..
3. the light switch is personal taste, but i dont like it, would prefer a fade out after inactivity..
-- thanks again though, impressive, and commendable that you made it non-I-want-to-own-your-computer-and-become-your-personal-assistant bloat that you see elsewhere.. cheers

dark1990 and Thinker you are right, the problem has been corrected, now it is standalone application, doesn't need DesktopX. Before you run it with Vista read the description above
